01 — What it is

Seamless, mineral finish

Microcement is a thin mineral paste — cement, fine quartz and colour pigments — applied in two layers with a trowel onto the substrate. Total thickness: 1 to 2 millimetres.

Fits over existing walls, tiles or floors without demolition. No thresholds, no skirting boards, no joints that eventually leak or become dirty.

02 — Character

Matte, calm, premium

The matte mineral finish does not reflect light and has a subtle texture that shifts slightly in every lighting condition. No gloss, no pattern — only surface and colour.

Works calmly alongside natural stone, wood, black steel and light tiles. Microcement lets the other materials speak.

Microcement opbouw — primer, twee microcementlagen en PU-topcoat
03 — Build-up

Waterproof through PU topcoat

Microcement is inherently mineral and attracts moisture. The finish is always: primer → two layers of microcement → two to three layers of PU topcoat. The PU seals the surface and makes it waterproof.

On a wall that PU layer remains intact for years — nothing ever happens there. For bathroom or toilet floors we therefore recommend Lavasteen Seamless Floor — intrinsically waterproof.

Applications

In which room?

Microcement is suitable for walls in any room. For floors in dry spaces (living room, bedroom) also fine, for wet floors (bathroom floor, toilet floor) we recommend Lavasteen Seamless Floor.

Colour

50+ colours plus NCS, RAL and RAL Design

Microcement is available in 50+ standard colours — from warm sand and mineral grey to deep nude and green palettes. For exact colour matching with an existing wall, furniture or brand guideline, bespoke work is possible in NCS, RAL or RAL Design.

Colour samples work differently in your own lighting conditions than in a studio photograph. We bring physical samples to you for the right choice.

Frequently asked

What customers ask us beforehand

Can microcement be applied over existing tiles?
Yes. We treat the tiles first: degrease, prime, fill joints and level. No demolition required — that saves considerable time and cost during renovation.
Is microcement waterproof?
On walls, yes, through two to three layers of PU topcoat. On floors in wet areas (bathroom, toilet) we recommend Lavasteen Seamless Floor — intrinsically waterproof due to its epoxy base. On floors in dry areas, microcement with PU is perfectly suitable.
How much does microcement cost per m²?
Material costs depend on the colour and volume. For a complete price indication including application, we require a site survey — shape, substrate and layers determine the final amount.
Which colours are available?
50+ standard colours, plus bespoke options in NCS, RAL and RAL Design. For exact colour matching with an existing wall or brand guidelines, that is the recommended route.
How do I clean microcement?
Daily wipe with a damp cloth, weekly mopping with pH-neutral cleaner. No aggressive cleaning agents, no abrasive sponges — these can damage the PU topcoat.
Do you provide both application and supply?
Both. Patrick and the team apply for clients who wish to outsource the work. For DIY enthusiasts, we supply all materials and tools, plus instructions.
