Rijswijk town centre is largely post-war with high-rise blocks around In de Bogaard and Generaal Spoorlaan. In flats we often work in compact bathrooms (4–6 m²). Our 1–2 mm thin build-up saves millimetres on ceiling height compared to tiles — a noticeable difference in low-ceilinged walk-up flats.
Hoekpolder, Sion & ‘t Haantje — new-build 2010+
On the south side of Rijswijk there are many recent new-build estates with anhydrite screed and standard underfloor heating. Ideal substrate for our finish. Here we often complete full living-room projects (40–60 m²) with Lavasteen Seamless Floor in Linnen, Sea Shell or Mushroom.
Strijp, Steenvoorde & Bomenbuurt — 1950s/60s terraced houses
In the centrally located neighbourhoods there are many terraced houses from the post-war reconstruction. Often cement screed with cracks from 60 years of use. We check with a moisture meter (max. 2%) and repair locally. In rental properties we work directly over existing tiles — saves demolition costs + landlords often approve this approach.
Plaspoelpolder & business park — commercial application
On the east side lies Rijswijk's Plaspoelpolder business park. Here we sometimes work in office kitchenettes, showroom floors or commercial sanitary facilities.
