Light or dark — where do you use it?

Lighter shades such as Sea Shell, Sand or Pearl open up smaller spaces and work well in bathrooms and showers with limited daylight. Darker shades such as Lavender Grey or Anthracite add character and work strongly in a large living space or modern loft.

Lavasteen has an open structure

Unlike microcement, Lavasteen naturally has a lighter, more open structure. Our installers can make that surface denser if desired by water-misting during application. The result is a seamless, matte-smooth floor that still feels tactile.

Waterproof by nature

Lavasteen is epoxy-based — it is inherently waterproof, even when damaged. That is why we always recommend it for floors in wet rooms (bathroom, shower, toilet). The PU topcoat applied over it does not serve for waterproofing here, but for closing the structure and easier cleaning: 1 coat sufficient, more coats = smoother surface.

Test in your light and alongside your materials

Request 3 samples and hold them in your space against fixed elements (tiles, sanitary ware, wooden elements). Place them in day- and evening light. What looks like colour A in a product photo may turn out slightly different in your bathroom.

Microcement or Lavasteen Seamless Floor?

Short rule: walls and furniture → microcement. Floors in wet rooms → Lavasteen Seamless Floor. For living-space floors either works — taste and budget decide. Otherwise view the microcement palette.
